Important moment

The sky was blue and the weather was perfect, to me it was another ride to school. What I didn't know was that that morning was going be more than just another average morning, it was just me and my cousin in the car, him a Freshman in high school and me a Junior in high school, we were talking to each other having a normal conversation talking bout the day to come when out of nowhere it happened. We where in the left hand lane of a two way, two lane street, just minding our business when we get hit almost head on by a car coming out of a neighborhood. My cousin being in the passenger seat was the one that took the most of the hit but he was unharmed which I didn't know at the time, we would have hit head on if I had stayed in the lane we were in but luckily I thought fast enough to prevent that by heading straight into a turn lane for going into one of the neighborhoods along the street we were on. After the initial hit I pulled off to the side of the road and was checking everything on me to see if I was fine but what I had not thought about was to check my cousin since he was on the side that had been hit I dropped all of my worries to check on him besides being shocked and scared he was fine which I was so thankful for. I then proceeded to call my parents and my cousin did the same after everything settled the guy that hit us was arrested due to the fact that he had warrants in New Braunfels just ten miles up north from our tiny town of cibolo. That day my car was damaged real bad but I was so thankful for my cousin and I for being perfectly fine because the car could get fixed but if we were hurt that could have been way worst than anything else that day. My faith was tested and I'm by no means a full on follower of the bible I slack off but I was definitely lucky and I thank God for protecting my cousin and I.
